ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FUNDING AND SUPPORT
 

  • Economic Development funding is to support outside agencies (nonprofit only) focused on economic development and business improvement. Economic Development funding is intended to support the City's mission, vision and strategic objectives for economic development. 
  • Economic Development funding exists in the following categories:
    • Business Retention, Expansion and Recruitment which is primarily focused on recruiting, retaining and expanding traded sector businesses in the community. 
    • Downtown and Neighborhood Vibrancy is focused on sustaining a vibrant downtown mix of businesses and being a primary point of contact for downtown property and business owners. This category will also include groups focused on neighborhood sustainability and reinvestment.
    • Small Business Support will assist groups who focus on entrepreneurs, small businesses and gap financing for small businesses.
    • Housing relates to increasing housing stock within the City limits of Klamath Falls.
  • **Maximum grant award possible per selected application is up to a maximum of $50,000
    • **The maximum award possible per selected application is up to $50,000; however, additional funds may be awarded, if available, for special projects and emphasis.
  • Applicants may be required to provide a 5-10-minute presentation to City Council at a Work Session, date TBD, if the Grant criteria are met.
  • Applications are due March 1 for consideration of funding starting July. 



OTHER GRANT OPPORTUNITIES
 

Event Sponsorship Funding

  • Event Sponsorship funding is intended to demonstrate the City's support for community events.
  • Eligibility: Any nonprofit organization that is organizing a local event (serving Klamath Falls) that is open to the public may request Event Sponsorship funding from the City.
  • Application: Eligible entities seeking event sponsorship funding shall submit a completed Community Initiative/Event/Sponsorship Funding Application (below) to the office of the City Manager. Applications are due March 1 for consideration of funding starting July.
  • No sponsorship shall exceed $2,500 and an organization may only receive one sponsorship per calendar year (no in-kind funding requests will be considered). 
  • Applicants may be asked to provide a 5-10-minute presentation to City Council at a Work Session, date TBD, if the Grant criteria are met.

Event Sponsorship Grant Application

Community Initiative Funding

  • Community Initiative Funding is intended to support specific projects (capital) and programs that advance one or more Outcome Areas in the City's Strategic Plan.
  • Eligibility: Any entity or group serving primarily residents of the City of Klamath Falls is eligible to apply for Community Initiative Funding. No request shall exceed $7,500.
  • Application: Eligible entities seeking Community Initiative Funding shall submit a completed Community Initiative/Event/Sponsorship Funding Application (below) to the office of the City Manager. Applications are due March 1 for consideration of funding starting July. 
  • Applicants may be asked to provide a 5-10-minute presentation to City Council at a Work Session, date TBD, if the Grant criteria are met.

Community Initiative Grant Application

Supporting Sponsorships

  • Sponsorship funding is intended to demonstrate the City's support for community partners that exceed one event and that are physically located in City limits.
  • Eligibility: Any nonprofit organization that provides organized cultural or similar events serving Klamath Falls may request Sponsorship funding from the City. Eligibility is limited to organizations located within City limits.
  • Application: Eligible entities seeking sponsorship funding shall submit a completed Community Initiative/Event/Sponsorship Funding Application (below) to the office of the City Manager. Applications are due March 1 for consideration of funding starting July. 
  • No sponsorship shall exceed $10,000, and an organization may only receive one sponsorship per calendar year (no in-kind funding requests will be considered). 
  • Applicants may be asked to provide a 5-10-minute presentation to City Council at a Work Session, date TBD, if the Grant criteria are met.
