11th St Bridge Improvement Project

Project Description

The 11th Street Bridge, a vital piece of infrastructure in the City of Klamath Falls, has stood since 1938. This 300-foot-long reinforced concrete T-beam and prestressed slab bridge serves as a critical access point for vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians exiting downtown. It is also an essential transportation route for Klamath Union High School, ensuring daily connectivity for students, staff, and visitors.

However, restrictions on special haul vehicles have led to congestion, disrupting local economic activity. To address these challenges, the proposed project will strengthen and widen the bridge, improving sidewalks and bike lanes to enhance multimodal and ADA accessibility. Additionally, as a vital transportation link in the event of an earthquake, the bridge will be retrofitted to meet modern seismic standards, improving its resilience.

This project will ensure the 11th Street Bridge remains a safe, efficient, and reliable connection for the community for years to come.
