The Klamath Falls Police Department Canine Unit consists of three dual trained patrol and narcotic canines. Once the canines are selected, the officer will attend a four-to-six-week handler's course to be trained and bond with their new partner.
Training
The canines are trained in Dutch and Czechoslovakian commands. The patrol canines are trained in tracking, article search, building search, area search and handler/canine protection. The narcotics canines are trained to locate Cocaine, Heroin and Methamphetamine.

All canines were purchased with generous donations from our community.
