An arraignment is a first appearance in court with a plea being entered by the defendant. If you plead No Contest you will see the Judge that day and if you plead Not Guilty a trial will be set for a future date.
Arraignments are held on Thursdays with check-in starting at 8 a.m. All cases appearing before the Municipal Judge are called in the order of check-in (except for high school students, who will be called first to accommodate their early return to classes). No one will be added to the list of arraignments after court begins. Arraignments for persons whose primary language is Spanish are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 9 a.m. This is the only arraignment time when a Spanish interpreter is available.
