Captain Rob Dentinger


Biography

Captain Dentinger has 23 years of law enforcement experience, starting as a reserve police officer with the City of Klamath Falls.  Prior to that Captain Dentinger served as a police explore with the Klamath Falls Police Department.  Since being hired as a full time police officer with the City of Klamath Falls Police Department in 1996, Captain Dentinger has served as a:

  • Lieutenant
  • Detective Sergeant
  • Patrol Sergeant
  • Detective
  • Motor Officer
  • SWAT Operator
  • Patrol Officer

Responsibilities


Captain Dentinger is responsible for planning, directing and leading the Investigation and Support Division (ISD).  Captain Dentinger oversees the Records Unit, Evidence Unit, and the Investigative Unit to include the Basin Interagency Narcotics Team (BINET). 

Captain Dentinger understands the importance of building relationships with community members.  Realizing today’s children are the adults of tomorrow, Captain Dentinger leads the efforts of Klamath Falls Police Departments sponsored events to connect with the children in the community, these events include, Shop with a Cop and the Klamath Falls Police Department Junior Police Academy. 

Education

Captain Dentinger has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Northwest Christian College, holds an Executive Certification from the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training, and is a graduate of the 264th Session of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.

Associations

Captain Dentinger is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the Oregon Association Chiefs of Police, and the FBI National Academy Associates, Oregon Chapter.
