City Attorney

Welcome to the City Attorney's Office. The City Attorney is the Chief Legal Officer of the City and provides legal advice to the Mayor, City Council, all City Departments and the various City Boards, Committees and Commissions on legal matters of concern to the City and its residents.

The City Attorney prepares all ordinances and resolutions for City Council action, provides opinions and advice to City officials regarding general municipal law issues and prosecutes misdemeanor offenses as well as traffic and code violations in Municipal Court. The City Attorney also handles legal matters related to implementation and application of land use regulations and provides services related to land sales, acquisitions and leases. 

Mission

The City Attorney's mission is to provide timely and effective legal advice to City officials, and professional representation of the City's interests; and to provide protection to the citizens of the City of Klamath Falls through timely and just prosecution of persons accused of offenses filed in Municipal Court.
