Captain Gregg Wheat has over 25 years of law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities
As a Captain for the Klamath Falls Police Department, Captain Wheat currently oversees the Patrol and Operations Division (POD) of the department, which consists of four patrol teams and specialized units consisting of SWAT, K-9, and Traffic. He also oversees the Reserve and Explorer programs. Captain Wheat is responsible for planning, directing, reviewing, and administering activities and operations within his division consistent with community-oriented policing goals and objectives.
Education and Certificates
Captain Wheat holds an Associate of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and an Executive Certificate from the Oregon Department of Standards and Training. He has attended DPSST’s Middle Management course, the OSSA Command College, FBI Leeda Supervisory and Liability Program, Executive Academy, Sergeants Academy, SWAT School, as well as numerous other trainings involving patrol tactics, death investigations, criminal investigations, terrorism, SWAT, and leadership.
