Lieutenant Thomas has 30 years of law enforcement experience, starting as a Reserve Police Officer with the City of Klamath Falls. Lieutenant Thomas was hired by the Klamath Falls Police Department in May of 1999. Since that appointment Lieutenant Thomas has served as a:

· Patrol Sergeant
· Patrol Corporal
· Field Training Program Coordinator
· Reserve/Explorer Advisor
· Canine Unit Supervisor
· Canine Handler
· Field Training Officer
· Patrol Officer
Lieutenant Thomas also served his country in the United States Marine Corps infantry in the middle east with the 13th and 15th Marine Expeditionary Units.
As a Lieutenant for the Klamath Falls Police Department, Lieutenant Thomas currently oversees the Investigative and Support Division (ISD). This includes the Detective Division, office staff, reserve, explorer, and volunteer programs.
Education and Certificates
Lieutenant Thomas holds a Supervisory, Advanced certificates with Oregon Department of Standards and Training. He attended the FBI Leeda Supervisory and Liability Program, Sergeants Academy, IPSLEI Leadership Development Program and the Northwest Leadership Program.
